For this exceptional screening, Charbon Studio and Le Fresnoy invite you to experience the sensory impact of the projection technologies of yesterday, today and tomorrow, brought together for the first time in the same cinema:

• resolution : 4K, four times more detail… does it carry us away more than 2K ?
• laser takes over, xenon quietly fades out… is an emotion lost along the way ?
• frame rate: do the 24 frames per second, cinema's historic pulse, keep their magic against the high frame rates (HFR) of blockbusters ?
• do the different laser technologies (Phosphor, RGB) change anything in what our eyes see ?

The experience goes beyond digital: a 35mm projection and a YouTube MP4 on the big screen will heighten the sensory contrast.

To discuss it all together, we will gather seasoned artists and specialists around the table, taking the projected film excerpts as the starting point for the conversation.

And we will close with an interactive quiz with the participants: identify the projection technology used!
